I am the founder and designer here at MH Design Studio. I have many years of experience working in the industry starting at the age of 17 where I began job shadowing a senior designer of a firm in Portland, OR. I continued working with her through college and after as a paid assistant. Once I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree from Marylhurst University, she hired me at her own firm. We focused on all sorts of projects from re-upholstering, remodeling, multifamily and new construction.  It was during this time I began to fall in love with the process of putting all the selections together in a new construction build. We would help with cabinets, hardware, lighting, plumbing, paint and of course the hard surface finish selections. I loved this process and seeing the end product was so rewarding. 

In 2007, I decided it was time for a change and began my career at Cascade Flooring America in Vancouver, WA. It was here that I learned so much about the products we were putting into a home which I feel has shaped me into the well-rounded designer I have become. I started out on the retail side and then moved to the builder side in 2013. It was at this time that I began working on model and show homes. Including 3 award winning Parade of Homes houses and 2 Tour of Homes houses. I have gained so much knowledge about every aspect of hard surfaces and learn more every day!

In my free time I LOVE to spend time with my family. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children that keep our evenings busy with sports. We also have a pup who was actually our first child! Besides my family I love having a glass of wine with my girlfriends and spending summers on the river!
